Literature Text

For years and years, the chains of love tied both the human and god together
They were together for every moment
Every moment of slumber
Every single night

Though years have passed in her world,
Aisling looked the same as she did the first day the young god met her
Nonetheless, Dreamer still cared for her
And waited for her to come back to their dream world

But, one day, something seemed wrong
Dreamer walked up to Aisling in the blank room
"Is something wrong?" he asked.
"Huh? No, nothing's wrong," she smiled.

Her complexion was pale and her eyes seemed tired.
Dreamer sat beside her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "There is something wrong isn't there?"
But, the girl pushed away from him. "It's nothing!"
The young god sat there in silence.

Aisling looked at him. "I'm sorry," she cried.
"I didn't mean to yell at you."
But, he just kept quiet.
Aisling looked downcast. "Do you hate me now?"
Dreamer shook his head. "I could never."

"You were the first person who showed me compassion.
The first person I have ever loved."
Suddenly, her eyes began to tear up
And the world around them began to disappear into oblivion

Dreamer got up and stared at the fading girl
"Dreamer, I'm sorry.
We should have never started doing this.
We should have never seen each other.
I shouldn't have fallen in love with you."

With those words, the world faded into darkness
And Dreamer found himself back in the Dream realm.
I shouldn't have fallen in love with you
The last words she said to him left his heart in agony.

After that day, he stopped visiting her in dreams
He sat in the Dream realm in complete silence
No one around to talk to him
No one around to care for him

"Alone again," he sighed.
For some odd reason, he started to feel drowsy
His eyes began to close and he fell into slumber
Something that was never supposed to happen

"W-Where am I" he asked a loud in a dark room.
You broke the rules.
"Who's there?"
You interfered with the dreams of a human.

But, no worries; you shalln't be interfering with her dreams anymore.
Dreamer stopped. What?
Those dreams shall appear no more.
The young god opened his eyes, shaking and sweating.

Was I…dreaming?
No, that's impossible. I can't dream.
He started searching for her dream world franticly
But to no avail

"What's going on?" he shouted.
"I usually see her dream around this time."
It truly wasn't there.
Dreamer fell to his knees, dazed.

This can't be true. This can't be true.
I shouldn't have fallen in love with you
"But you did.
And I for you."

Dreamer got up and ran to the gate of the realms.
I shouldn't be doing this, but I have to, he thought
As he ran through the portal to the human realm.
I love you.

When he was in the mortal realm, he was surrounded by a crowd of people
All of them wearing black
The air around was sickening; the air was thick with sadness
Dreamer pushed his way through the crowd

When he reached the front, his heart sank
In front of him was a casket surrounded by red roses
Inside was an elderly woman who had her hands held together
Tears cascaded down Dreamer's cheeks for something was amiss about her

She had the same blue ribbon as his beloved Aisling
The mourners around were weeping as well
Dreamer walked closer to the casket and touched the woman's chilled face.
"T-T-T-This c-can't b-be," he stuttered.

I'm sorry.
"No, Aisling…Aisling"
Because…I love you.
"NO!"

You see, little Dreamer, this is why
You never break the final rule.
That is why you never
Fall in love with a human.
